Atlas Forum Event at El Rey

Sunday, 04 May 2014

Paxton kicked off the 2014 Atlas Forum at the new outdoor taqueria, El Rey. Friends and colleagues met Wednesday April 23rd on 919 U Street, NW to enjoy an evening under the stars.

Centered on the simple idea of good Mexican food, El Rey was assembled between two colorful shipping containers provided by Paxton International. One of the containers used in the creation of El Rey came all the way from Baghdad, Iraq.

This warm and friendly “taco shack” gives off a rustic feel with steel stencil artwork, stone high tops, a unique beer garden, and a back lit patio with a retractable roof that you can’t help but feel like it illuminates a unique ambiance.

Temping tacos, tostadas, and tamales were served, as chips and salsa were shared among tables. Dinner was followed by delicious dessert tacos and cinnamon powdered churros.

Employees were kept toasty under the industrial heaters as they enjoyed the fun chic atmosphere. The evening was nothing short of magical and really helped to set the mood for the upcoming forum.

Thank you to all that attended! & a special thank you to Terry Poorpaugh for capturing the smiling faces below!! :)
