Paxton International Helps the Afghan Snow Leopard

Sunday, 06 January 2013

Snow LeopardWe are always excited when one of our shipments has a positive effect on the environment in the communities we work. Earlier this year Paxton International transported equipment to Afghanistan used to study the endangered snow leopard in the remote Hindu Kush Mountains. This shipment required that Paxton International staff navigate the complex process governing the importation of special veterinary and film equipment vital to the project. Once delivered to the National Geographic Society (NGS)/Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) in Afghanistan, the equipment provided for the first ever satellite tracking of snow leopards- enabling scientists to learn more about these elusive creatures to better protect them.

ISO 14001Green DoveAt Paxton, we realize that the logistics industry can have a negative impact on the environment. That’s why we decided to become the first in our industry to obtain the ISO14001:2004 Environmental Certification - also known as the Green Dove Award. The entire Paxton team has analyzed our policies and procedures to limit our environmental impact and carbon foot print with a focus on three R’s: Re-use, Recycle, and Reduce. Few transportation companies can say that they have taken this step to safeguard our planet; it is a program of which we safeguard our planet; it is a program of which we are very proud.
