Baking for a Cause

Boasting SMILES from ear to ear, Paxton employees gathered, excited, to participate in the bake sale benefitting FIDI’s charity - Operation Smile - on Friday, February 19th. Operation Smile is FIDI’s chosen project in 2016 as having the biggest potential to make a tangible difference in the lives of children in poverty-stricken communities. The organization ‘Operaciόn Sonrisa Honduras’ provides clinical interventions for children born with devastating facial malformations, such as cleft lip or cleft pallet.

In order to maximize the scale and impact of Paxton’s bake sale, we reached out to numerous local bakeries to request donations of tempting treats for the event in addition to the support received by many of our own employees who donated homemade baked goods. On the day of the event Paxton employees, alongside employees of neighboring offices, eagerly lined up, wide-eyed at the vast variety and delectableness of all the baked goodies.

In the end, Paxton raised a grand total of $1,500 at the bake sale; enough to provide life changing operations for 3 children! Paxton pride and a profound sense of community toward the industry truly shone through at this bake sale - especially considering the highest priced single baked good was only $1!
