Paxton International Attends FIDI 2015

Wednesday, 22 April 2015

Paxton International attended the 2015, 64th Annual Fédération Internationale des Déménageurs Internationaux (FIDI) Conference from March 29th – April 1st in Cape Town, South Africa. Paxton delegates in attendance included Freddy Paxton, Tara Robinson and Morgana Somers.

The FIDI conference is one of the most renowned annual conferences designed for those in the international logistics and relocation industry. This year’s keynote speaker was Rev. Mpho Tutu, daughter of world prominent Nobel Prize for Peace winner, Archbishop Desmond Tutu who is known for his role in the opposition to apartheid in South Africa. Rev. Tutu’s belief is that the interdependence of human communities can change the world for the better. Her beliefs align with the conference theme of “Ubuntu, the Power of Unity" an African concept relating to human interdependence and solidarity, and at its heart is the belief that true human potential can only be realized in partnership with others; a statement that fully supports FIDI’s core objectives.

The conference drew together over 500 member companies from over 100 countries! The Paxton team met with 100 worldwide agent partners, many in individual private sessions where we conducted agent analysis. Our agent analysis is at the core of our agent partnerships, they help us determine how we can best serve our clients. After an intense but productive 4 days, the conference ended with a Gala dinner featuring a documentary detailing FIDI-35 member’s trip to Bertrams Junior School, a FIDI charity. The dinner raised 28,000 Euros! A copy of the documentary is available for viewing on YouTube at https://youtu.be/D_W_h3IO4og

Thank you to all who attended and made this year’s conference a valuable experience and furthered Paxton’s leadership role in the international arena.
