Day to Serve 2014

Sunday, 21 September 2014

Paxton sent hunger packing with the Day to Serve Food Drive on Saturday September 20th, 2014. The food drive was organized by the LDS Oak Marr Ward and the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Fairfax. Close to 5,000 items - including food, drinks, toiletries, diapers, and other items, along with several hundred dollars in donations - were collected and delivered by Paxton to Food for Others. Paxton donated boxes to the effort and sent two trucks to pick up and deliver the donated items.

“The Paxton employees who came to help were very nice, efficient, and excellent people to be around. We could not have moved as much food and other items as efficiently without Paxton's help. We thank you sincerely for your service to our community.” - Eric Lacey

In 2013, Day to Serve volunteers collected and donated over 950,000 lbs of food to food banks and pantries throughout the area - the rough equivalent of 800,000 meals for those who otherwise might have gone hungry. We hope this year’s collections exceed those results and are proud to have taken place in such a genuine event.
